Panorama Pandemic film

Now it is the beginning of May, and it is clear that we are all in this together and we have learned so much about ourselves, our families, our workplaces, our habits and our uncertainties.

When I think about our intensely personal and our newly developed public journeys, I see a different sense of creative energy flowing in many new ways.

We really don’t know what is ahead on these trips we will be taking, but I know that the last ten weeks or so have taught me a lot about what it means to be alive and what it means to be truly challenged by the world we live within.

So here is a short film with some illustrations and thoughts about what has happened in the last ten weeks ... family times, WFH, SIP, diagrams, sharing, reading, painting, cooking, feelings, hiking, mask-making, exploring new virtual worlds and seeing the real neighborhoods …

Redwood Day school drawing lessons at Gensler Oakland

Students from fifth grade class at Redwood Day school in Oakland joined the design studio of Gensler Oakland for a series of design exercises including my Tree House drawing lesson.

Each student begins with a sheet of paper and begins to draw their dream treehouse.

The I begin to do a drawing of a large tree and branches on the writing wall in the Scarlet meeting room.

Then each student is asked to find a spot on the branches of the three and redraw their dream treehouse connected to the branches and eventually connected to other treehouses.
