Saturday morning ballet lessons ... First time ...

A first time for me.  My daughter took her first ballet lesson on a Saturday morning.  I tried to watch and capture some of the many scenes...

Degas was obsessed by the art of classical ballet, because to him it said something about the human condition. He was not a balletomane looking for an alternative world to escape into. Dance offered him a display in which he could find, after much searching, certain human secrets.

People call me the painter of dancers, but I really wish to capture movement itself.

From crayons to ink on paper

There is something still so magical about crayons...

It is fun to go back and try them again and again.  Now where is that box with the built-in sharpener?

KUBB, the game from the weekend of camping on Mount Tamalpais

KUBB is an outdoor or lawn game where the primary object is to knock over wooden blocks by throwing or tossing wooden batons.  Today's version originated in Sweden, and the rules vary from country to country and from region to region, but the ultimate object of the game is to knock over the five kubbs on the opposing side line, and then knock the "king" over, before the opponent does, the nickname of the game is "Viking Chess." Games can last from five minutes to well over an hour or two. The game can be played on a variety of surfaces such as grass, asphalt, concrete, sand, snow, or ice.  Here are my sketches of the game in progress at the campground.
