Sometimes I think about Robert Byron touring through regions of the Middle East in search of unique towers and monuments, and wonder about Bruce Chatwin venturing through the southern tip of South America and falling in love with Patagonia...Douglas Wittnebel...

Summit of Mount Diablo, California
The summit of Mount Diablo sits at elevation 3,864 feet (1,178 m), the beacon tower was constructed in 1939-42 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, here we see a painterly view of the tower from the promenade level, looking south...painted using art studio on digital tablet...
