Sometimes I think about Robert Byron touring through regions of the Middle East in search of unique towers and monuments, and wonder about Bruce Chatwin venturing through the southern tip of South America and falling in love with Patagonia...Douglas Wittnebel...

Explorer John C. Fremont first saw Lake Tahoe in 1844 from the top of Red Lake Peak, which is located south of the basin and what is now Carson Pass. He named it Lake Bonpland after a botanist, but then changed it to Mountain Lake. Subsequently it was named Lake Bigler after a California Governor. The US Department of Interior didn’t care for it either, and commissioned Dr. Henry Degroot, a journalist, to come up with a name. Degroot suggested “Tahoe” an Indian name meaning “big water”. It took decades before the name finally stuck, thanks to action in 1945 by the California State Legislature...

Dream landscape view of apple orchard, watering fields
while on the airplane flying from the east to the west, i observed the system of radial irrigation installations over a landscape next to a river in the western region of the U.S. and thought about the painted atmosphere view after it was studded with a set of doughnut structures...

Modesto Gate
Built in 1912, the entrance gate to the city of Modesto spans the street at 9th and I, a reddish color paint on a steel truss, displaying the key phrase words of Water,Wealth, Contentment, Health
Key Words that are on the top of the lists of many discussions and arguments in the news today. and more to come in the future...I painted this view using adobe ideas app for the top layers, and a brushes app for the undertone sky of blue and orange...
