In the early months of 2014, I began to take some quality time to get to know and understand the city of Oakland. One of the results of my walks through the city was a ‘falling in love with the buildings” and the spaces, and I drew and developed a set of color prints of 4 key wonderful pieces of architecture. This study became the basis of deeper considerations of where the Gensler San Ramon might move in the following year.
Inside and outside of my creative life, I always find those valuable moments of time to draw and sketch the some of events, spaces and environments on my journeys... Sometimes I think about Robert Byron touring through regions of the Middle East in search of unique towers and monuments, and wonder about Bruce Chatwin venturing through the southern tip of South America and falling in love with Patagonia...Douglas Wittnebel...
