Up north off Highway One in Marin County, one of the spots for oysters: Tomales Bay Oysters. Folks can purchase bags of oysters in various sizes, and join other oyster lovers with freshly opened or grilling on the charcoal grills. This was my version of an oysters rockefeller with a mixture of spianch, onions, garlic, cheese and assorted herbs... Bring your own tools and wine and sit down and enjoy the view of the Bay and the taste of fresh oysters...this was drawn on the iPad with the sketchbook pro app...
Inside and outside of my creative life, I always find those valuable moments of time to draw and sketch the some of events, spaces and environments on my journeys... Sometimes I think about Robert Byron touring through regions of the Middle East in search of unique towers and monuments, and wonder about Bruce Chatwin venturing through the southern tip of South America and falling in love with Patagonia...Douglas Wittnebel...

Alameda Theatre
Timothy Pflueger designed this theater for the Nassar brothers and it opened in 1932 during the depression years. The exterior caught my eye as the late afternoon sunlight bleached the softer columns and curves of the facade. Restored in 2008, the building stands proud on Central Avenue and viewable from Park Street, and contains a wonderful set of interior spaces and details.
