Outside and inside of my work life at Gensler in Oakland, California, I try my best to find those valuable moments of free time to draw and sketch the events, spaces and environments on my journeys... I think about Robert Byron touring through regions of the Middle East in search of unique towers and monuments, and I think of the young Bruce Chatwin venturing through portions of South America and falling in love with Patagonia...Douglas Wittnebel...
The blog serves as a collection space for a variety of musings and observations of the world around us...through the use of sketches, drawings, photos, images and videos...intended to be shared and to stimulate thoughts, ideas and inspirations...douglas wittnebel

I am keeping a close eye and ear to the events unraveling in Japan, and praying that good news will eventually come out of the country. The people of Japan are strong and resilient and are being tested to their limits and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone of them. I completed this sketch before the earthquake occurred but could not post it until today.
